Grouped the way the county actually works
Orange County is grouped here into five areas that follow how policing and the courts are organised, not marketing boundaries. The region a city sits in tells you which justice center will hear the case and, usually, which of our offices is closest.
Bail is posted at the jail rather than at our office, so we can help families anywhere in the county. Where we do not have a physical office, we say so plainly.

The corner of the county we know best — all three of our offices are here, and cases are heard at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
The county seat and the main jail complex. Cases are heard at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, and most county bookings pass through here.
Nine cities served by the West Justice Center in Westminster, several with their own municipal police departments and short-term holding facilities.
The inland south county. Cases are heard at the Harbor Justice Center, and the James A. Musick Facility in Irvine sits in this part of the county.
The coastal cities, also served by the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. Several are policed by their own departments rather than the Sheriff.
Which region is my city in?
What matters legally is where the arrest happened, not where the person lives. Someone who lives in Irvine but was arrested in Fullerton will be arraigned at the North Justice Center, so the North County pages are the relevant ones for that case.

- West — West Justice Center, Westminster.
- South and South Coast — Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.
The full picture is on Orange County courthouses. If you are not sure which city made the arrest, call us — we can usually work it out from the person’s name and roughly when they were picked up, and there is no charge for that.
Before the court date
Wherever in the county the arrest happened, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department runs the custody system. Most bookings pass through the Intake Release Center in Santa Ana, with Theo Lacy in Orange and James A. Musick in Irvine also in use. Full detail is in our jail and custody guide.
