Orange County city custody
Laguna Beach Police Department Custody
A Temporary Holding facility on Forest Avenue — and a published policy that tells you something no other city does.
Laguna Beach operates a state-classified Temporary Holding facility — confinement of 24 hours or less under Title 15, § 1006. What makes this department unusual is that it publishes its full policy manual, and that manual contains a rule about bail bond agents that families genuinely benefit from knowing.

What the department’s own policy manual says about bail agents
Laguna Beach publishes its policy manual openly, and it contains a restriction worth knowing: officers are barred from recommending a bail bond broker, and from acting as a bailer themselves except for relatives.
That matters for one practical reason. If someone at a police facility offers you a name, that is not how it is supposed to work — and across the county line the Huntington Beach Police Department says the same thing in plainer terms, stating that neither the department nor its employees will recommend any specific bail bond company. Choose on licence, transparency and whether someone answers at 3 a.m. See avoiding bail bond scams; ours is CA licence 1841014.
A 24-hour window on the coast
South coast geography makes the window matter more than it does inland. A transfer from Laguna Beach runs to the Intake Release Center in Santa Ana — a long drive, and once it happens the release is processed there rather than locally. Doing the work by phone early is what keeps a case local. See jail transfers.
Getting the charge, and the figure
The Sheriff’s Inmate Information System requires an account and does not display charges. Call the department, call OCSD Inmate Records on (714) 647-4666, or ask us, then read it against the schedule with Orange County bail amount lookup.
